TMMT | 'Il pranzo della domenica' (Sunday lunch) book presentation

On Tuesday, October 29, at 6.30 pm, the book presentation series of TMMT, organized by Manifattura Tabacchi in collaboration with the Todo Modo bookstore, resumes. Donpasta (Daniele De Michele) will present his book Il pranzo della domenica.

This book is a sentimental journey into the kitchens of Italian grandmothers, an immersion in the flavors, aromas, and stories behind each traditional dish. Through the eyes and words of chef and storyteller Donpasta, we traverse Italy, from the hills of Irpinia to the Mantuan countryside, from the Sicilian mountains to the caruggi of Genoa.

We meet Ornella, the elderly baker who lovingly prepares babà; Marinetta, the grandmother cyclist who dances while kneading gnocco fritto; Maria, the strong and resilient woman from Lucania who reveals the secrets of cavatelli; Giuliana, the tireless guardian of the Tuscan crostino; and many other extraordinary women who open the doors to their kitchens and their hearts. Donpasta does not simply collect recipes; he digs into the shared past, capturing the anthropological essence of each dish, its connection to the land, history, and the identity of a people.

This book is a tribute to Italian cuisine as a cultural and emotional heritage, a celebration of sharing and togetherness, and a reflection on the traditions that bind us to the past while projecting us into the future.
