A journey through the sounds and rhythms of far away places, every Wednesday from 26 June to 17 July at the Cortile della Ciminiera at Manifattura. Guiding us will be DJ and producer Biga and guests, with a different set of expert hands on the musical tiller each night, playing music from three continents, from Brazil to Pakistan and back again.
BIO
DJ, producer and record collector, the style of Biga is a mix of the new and old, vintage, contemporary and futuristic, influenced by every part of black music.

guest: D.Vyzor
A Brazilian who has lived in London since 2006, collaborating with DJs such as Gilles Peterson, The Reflex, Norman Jay, Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Daddy G (Massive Attack), Four Tet, ABA-SHANTI I, Floating Points and many others.
D.Vyzor has supported many Brazilian bands and artists on their European tours, including: Sergio Mendes, Criolo, Os Mutantes, Nação Zumbi, Marcelo D2, Maria Rita, Vanessa da Mata.
He has played in Brazil, UK, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Montenegro.

Duccio and Pupa-Tee, from south Florence, founders of Skoolbwoy Sound and one half of Ragnampiza, began collecting funk, soul and rap vinyl back in the early 90s. Their sets journey through a vast range of musical genres, without respecting stylistic or geographical limitations, taking in Soul, Funk, Jazz, Reggae, Rap, and even including Psychedelia, Prog Rock and Electronica.

For more than 10 years, Peba Tropikal has been digging through the crates to unearth the rare forgotten gems of Brazilian music, specialising in Soul, Funk, Disco, and Boogie, as well as Samba and Samba-Rock.
Peba spends his days generously sharing this vast knowledge with whoever happens to pass by Patuá Discos in São Paulo, one of the best record shops in the city, an institution for the area’s vinyl-heads, and a site of pilgrimage for passing international DJs. It’s team has been more or less behind every compilation of Brazilian music over the last 10 years.
By night, Peba regularly plays out around São Paulo and is the founder of nights such as Funky Nuggets, Veneno Soundsystem and ZumZumZum, as well as being a resident at Boteco Pratododia. His sets have taken him all over Brazil, South America and Europe.

guest: Brothermartino
Musician, producer and DJ, he has released two 7” vinyl on Max Graef and Glen Astro’s prestigious Money $ex Records label. Brothermartino has appeared in the past on Sonar Kollektiv, Jazzman Records, the Californian Fuzzoscope, and Irma Records, among others. He is a co-founder of the band The Mixtapers, whose release featured guest spots from Georgia Anne Muldrow, Dudley Perkins, Illa J, Frank Nitt, and others.
As a DJ, his eclectic sets feature contemporary deep and jazzy house, weaving in elements of modern funk and old-school electro, always exclusively on vinyl.
