On Saturday, March 22th, and Sunday, March 23th, Manifattura Tabacchi, in collaboration with the Società Toscana Orticultura, is hosting a spring event dedicated to nature in the city.
The program includes a market exhibition of plants and flowers is scheduled, featuring a selection of exhibitors, talks, a guided walk exploring the greenery of Manifattura, as well as workshops and activities for families, enthusiasts, and visitors of all ages.

A lecture on “Integrated Design” by Prof. Tessa Matteini, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture, DIDA, UniFi.
Designing and intervening in the urban landscape means engaging with the dimensions of care, narrative, and accessibility. After all, the historic garden is a complex system of temporal, biological, and cultural relationships.
As part of the “Integrated Design” module of the Master’s Program Futuro Vegetale, Tessa Matteini will lead a lecture dedicated to the historic garden as collective heritage and the challenges of conscious urban landscape management.

A curated selection of books on botany and curiosities will provide inspiration, surrounded by the colors and scents of early spring.

The cost of the workshop is €15 (including bag and materials).
A creative workshop for children. Under Ayako’s guidance, kids will personalize a specially designed bag by decorating it with their own floral-themed drawings. At the end of the workshop, they can take home their unique creation.

Paesaggiando is a physical and cultural journey through the history of Florence’s urban greenery. In this stop, we will explore Manifattura Tabacchi not only from an aesthetic and landscape perspective but also from a botanical one, thanks to the presence of numerous noteworthy species and varieties. On the rooftop of Building 11 of the Factory, you’ll find Officina Botanica, a biodiverse rooftop garden designed by landscape architect Antonio Perazzi.
