Botanica Urbana
A Saturday Dedicated to Nature in the City
Saturday, October 19th, from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm
Botanica Urbana is an event organized in collaboration with the Società Toscana di Orticultura, aimed at rediscovering and promoting the presence of greenery in urban environments through a day dedicated to both adults and children.
THE PROGRAM
9.00 am – 7.00 pm
Plant and flower market exhibition featuring botanical varieties selected by experts in the field.
- Società agricola Rose Barni with a variety of roses, tea hybrids, floribundas, ancient roses, and climbing roses, both ancient and modern
- Le Vastità will feature special crepe paper flowers. Not replicas of natural flowers, but entirely new objects—delicate little works of art, drawing inspiration from nature and reinterpreting it in a modern and poetic way. There will also be hand-painted chalices, beautifully decorating glassware
- Occhi di Rosa, Cavriglia with roses and irises
- NOP with the Paper Garden collection: each flower is a unique work of art, inspired by the beauty and delicacy of nature, for timeless gardens
- Invasate with decorative garlands of dried and preserved flowers, hair accessories made from dried flowers, bouquets of fresh cut flowers, and medallions for necklaces featuring botanical subjects painted in oil
- Ermini e Mangani with a selection of succulents
- Agricultural company Florovivaistica Campolungo with collections of salvias, ipomeas, and distinctive perennial herbaceous plants
- Flying Garden with kokedama
- Floriculture F.lli Susini with flowering and green outdoor plants
- Agricultural company La Penta with self-produced seeds and irises
- I Campi di Ninfa with a small autumn selection of aquatic plants in the form of a tiny pond, Marimo and some Cyperaceae
- Campinoti Leonardo with Tillandsia plant species
- Vivai Petreti Vinicio with flowering shrubs, conifers, hedge plants, fruit trees, topiary art, and climbing plants
- Vivai Belfiore with ancient, rare, and historic fruit tree varieties
- Circular Farm with fresh mushrooms of the Pleurotus, Lentinula (shiitake), and Hericium (lion’s mane) genera, mushroom growing kits, dried mushrooms, microgreens, Asian salad mixes with edible nasturtium flowers
- Botanica Informale and Il Chiosco dei Ciompi with local seasonal flowers and long-lasting flowers
- Azienda Agricola Alessandro Pippi with peonies, bird of paradise (strelitzia), banana plants, shade plants, echinacea, begonias, monstera, and tricolor hibiscus
- Growing Art Terrariums with terrarium and paludarium.

Floral Creativity Break by Botanica Informale and Il Chiosco dei Ciompi
Take your time, immerse yourself in colors, shapes, and fragrances, and create a bouquet that tells your story
10.00 am – 1.00 pm
Bottega Biologica offers a tasting of plant-based products
10.30 am – 1.00 pm
Botanical Cyanotype Workshop and exploration of Officina Botanica, the rooftop garden of Manifattura Tabacchi – for adults and children ages 5+
Learn and experiment with the Cyanotype printing technique with artists Susanna Stigler and Leonardo Pellegatta from the Onouka ets Association.
Discover the history of this magical white and blue analog world from a botanical perspective, exploring and creating prints using plants, flowers, and seeds.

Graphic/Photographic Cyanotype Workshop – for adults and children ages 5+
Learn and experiment with the Cyanotype printing technique with artists Susanna Stigler and Leonardo Pellegatta from the Onouka ets Association.
Discover the Cyanotype process together, creating prints with drawings, texts, and graphics that we can create on-site, as well as exploring the use of photographic prints.
