Saturday, October 19 at 6.00 pm, Opera Prima and COMITES Washington D.C. are organizing, for the column Design Pills from Italy to Washington D.C., the talk: The Fiber of the Prickly Pear Between Nature | Architecture | Design | Fashion.

The talk will explore the characteristics of prickly pear fiber, its properties, colors, and possible applications. There are many elements that can transform a project in design, architecture, and even in fashion—what if we could wear prickly pear fiber on our skin?

Salvo Mazzaglia, Vittorio Di Blasi, Antonio Vangeli, and Gianni Valentino will highlight, through experiments, the unique qualities of this valuable material, demonstrating how the discipline of design can continuously generate original results.

The event will be moderated by Arch. Gabriella Vetrugno, Arch. Andrea Maggi, and Dr. Maby Palmisano.

The project was born from an idea by Arch. Gabriella Vetrugno, aimed at promoting the culture of design and architecture, with the goal of reawakening harmony and beauty in our daily lives.
