Testimone Perpetua is composed of two acrylic glass capsules containing a solution of demineralized water, clay and powders of various kinds, obtained by grinding a series of works produced by the artist from 2012 to 2018.
In the series Testimoni, particles from sculptures made at different times in the past are colliding in the same environment at a controlled density. Such works, as often in similar cases, lay enclosed in their boxes, in warehouses scattered around the world, waiting to be reactivated in a narrative context, exhibition or collection.
Those are subtracted from the status of a work of art when they are ground into particles of different granulometry.
Mixed, they rejoin spaces, times and materials of different extraction to be united in visible vials, with an uncertain visual status, revealing the changing reality that surrounds them. Testimony and ontology coincide here in a perpetual crasis.
Nicola Martini (Florence, 1984) lives and works in Milan.
